Abstract The history of the Saliman family in the Denver area dates to the immigration of the family patriarch Paul Michael Saliman (known as Michael.) As did most Jewish families, Michael and his wife Bessie Radetsky Saliman settled on the west side near Sloan's Lake in 1886. The material in the collection includes items, photographs, and papers related to Dorothy Bercu Gross and her husband Norman Gross, her extended family, and her Vaudeville career in the 1920s and 1930s. Her father owned the Chicago Hide, Fur and Wool Company in Douglas, Wyoming and Denver, Colorado. Abstract Jacob Marinoff was a founder and the first superintendent of the JCRS Sanatorium in 1906. He served as the field secretary for four years, doing press and propaganda work in Yiddish. He was also involved in The Sanatorium, a journal from the JCFRS Press and Propaganda Committee. Jacob Marinoff was born in Russia in 1869 and immigrated United States in 1893. Abstract Alexander Kagan was born in Paris, France in 1906 to Russian parents. At the age of 14, Alexander began work as a fabric and jewelry designer. He came to the United States in 1922 with his mother Chana (Anna) and his brother Haim Persah (Paul). He worked as a fabric designer in New York and in 1930 he became a US citizen. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1954 and died in the Denver area in 1994....
